I can imagine your situation. Feel sorry to know that your 8 month old baby was beaten badly. Going to cops will definitely help you. She will be punished. Probably, she will be deported back to india and ban to USA. But, it may lead to put into you troubles for hiring illegal immigrant, for paying cash and not reporting to IRS. They may even review your tax returns for the past 3 years.

pappu, pls let me know, if u received the fund. Also, one small suggestion, we can just maintain a small excel sheet, to just see who (just the user id and not the actual name) contributed and how much money they contributed just in this campaign. Cos, I hate to say this, I just dont want to be around those who want to have a free ride from all the hard work that IV group is putting in. Please everyone please donate. If you are reading this post, if you have not contributed earlier, please contribute. Dont you want IV to become strong financially when fighting this tough case. They need all the help they can get. There are so many 'Thank you' threads running and its hard to keep track of everything. Anyways, I posted this elsewhere and am proud to post it again here. Read on....
I was just curious as to how many from Core Team will benefit from today's news. So I looked at the core team's GC details and here is the summary:
1. 8 out of 12 Core Team Members WILL NOT BENEFIT from today's news.
2. Because 6 of them are stuck in BEC
3. 2 of them are in the final stages of their GC.
But still they fought for this cause and never ever felt 'Why should I care'! Tears came running down when I looked at the details. You are just awesome. Though I am thankful today...I am thankful for the day I found this site and am thankful to god almighty for giving me an opportunity to know you all and work with you guys.
I also sincerely hope and wish that you all will get out of the mess you are in right now and we are with you till the end.
Thanks a lot to all members for being with us in this struggle. We have tasted our first big success this year. Credit goes to each and every IV member. We were all affected by the visa bulletin fiasco and this is our victory. This is a victory for all our members and we must rejoice.
IV had worked very hard and had been pushing for this in the background. Our flower campaign, rally and other advocacy efforts all came together and helped us at a crunch time. We thank members that sent flowers and also walked in the San Jose heat for 4 hours. All that really shows our commitment to this cause.
We are happy that our efforts are successful and IV has been able to make a difference. Please also know that during this effort, IV was extremely active and decision makers heard our voice. We cannot give out all the details but what IV members should know is that these efforts should make each one of us proud and what we can do if we have a firm resolve. We were also the first to break this news even before anyone else or media could, and continued to update our members as time passed.

My friend, Who said its not a problem? in my earlier post I have provided a big laundry list of Line cutting measures in place are these not problems? BUT the point is , is it worth it a fight ? Subs is long gone, We are fighting for Country quota from a year + atleast and we are still at square one and the problems keep worsens. We all worry about subs where there is no action. There is no fixing to this right now its a dead horse. Problem is VISA Numbers in XYZ,000's. Lets recapture them...

So for me is that Unethical? For me a person who qualifies for EB2 and applies now is a line cutter due to the fact that EB2 Q is better than EB3 and they are getting green card faster. Law allows them to do that. is it not jealous to me ? The list grows...

I think we should start a campaign where members will contribute $25 for every 2 months (recurring) untill another 6 months.
So, immigrationvoice would be adding funds to the tune of 175K every 2 months and also $25 every 2 months is not a big deal for most of us.
This way we are guranteed atleast some portions of our funds. Even if $25 is a lot of money, $10 can also be acceptible if they are paying a recurring payment. To sustain this campaign and maintain our presence in this space we need funds.
Let us know, who are ready to sign up for this campaign?

Thank you very much for starting this. We will be able to use all our resources in the coming months to get something done if we have sufficient funds that meet our target of 60K by December end. If all members get active, there is no doubt that we will succeed very soon.

I was finally able to obtain my new passport, but not without a fight until the end.
After two weeks of submission, I enquired from NY if they have received a clearance from the original passport issuing office (mine was Doha). They said NO. So I decided to contact the Doha consulate. They asked me send them the File number and receipt number. They also asked me to send scanned pages of my original passport, so keep those handy.
Once I emailed all these to Doha, they reverted back saying, that they have received everything and have faxed clearance to NY. When I called NY later, they claimed they have not received any fax. Infact one lady told me that the Fax might be in some other part of the building and will take time to reach her!!. So here started the iterations between Doha and NY. I would ask Doha to refax and NY would claim not to receive it.
I later on asked Doha if they could email the clearance to NY. They responded positively and following their email, I got a call from NY that they have received clearance and passport is ready.
If I would not jumped around, it would have taken a long long time for my passport to get ready. So be active and start the process for your new passport asap. Good Luck! :rolleyes:
After getting the form notarized (from a UPS store that has a public notary available), I made a second trip to the consulate and was able to submit the documents! (btw, I was in the queue for 1.5 hours!,,,Those of you going to the NY consulate, make sure u get there when doors open!)
Something new had to pop out.. So, after submission I was told the process could take four weeks because they need some sort of clearance from the consulate that issued the original passport. What sort of clearance.. I have no idea. My passport was issued in Doha. But I have heard from some of my friends who had passports issued in India also facing the same issue.
So those of you planning to travel in the near future and need to go to the consulate for passport reissue, go as early as possible and rid urself of some stress! :rolleyes:

We need to act as we did last July.
Lets send letters to congressman like zoe lofgren.
NSC is issuing frivolous RFEs as delaying tactics.
I am not seeing similar outrage as we saw last year.
The time to act is now.
Totally understand where you are coming from and what you are trying to say. We all need to be engaged more actively. However, in this thread, you are likely to receive more posts with the message -
"Are u blind - we are organized, we are asking each other questions about each other's status, tracking every LUD change, comparing status of each other, voting for and against in all the Eb2/Eb3 polls, always suggesting, supporting and arguing for changes that perfectly fit with my gc application, arguing why country of origin is so bad, why America has nothing to offer, unless I get my gc tomorrow, how this country has the opportunity to become great if they give me gc, what are lawmakers doing, why did they not pass laws to fix the problem of highly skilled idiots sorry, I mean highly skilled professionals, what is core doing, are they not our servants? Please stop using condescending remarks. I have been reading all your posts and your tone is going from bad to worst. It is not possible to place all the threads on the home page. We make a decision to put threads on the home page that we believe are important for our effort. If you feel otherwise, that is ok. But it is not ok for you to use derogatory language. If you feel so passionate, why don't you start your organization and spend your time, energy and resources and advocate for the cause instead of posting derogatory messages for others. It is very easy to fire when the gun is on someone else shoulder. We understand and share the frustration with green card delays, but that does not give you license to use derogatory language. Everyday there is new thread asking for update, leadership, direction etc. It is not practical to reply to every such post on this forum. That too does not give you license to use derogatory language. In last over 2.5 years we have answered many thousands questions in forums, emails and phone calls. I have heard many a times from my fellow team mates that not once did anyone receive a Thank you note from someone after that someone was fully able to resolve the situation after receiving reply from my colleagues at IV. None of us spend time on this cause to receive a Thank you note, however, posts like yours makes us wonder that are we a community of thankless educated immigrants who are so obsessed with our individual case that all that we want is instant gratification to exactly know the current status of our green cards, without which automatically IV is at fault. Just so that you know, people spend 30 sometimes 40 hours a week over the period of years, just to read a post from someone like you. We received a call at 12:30am yesterday from someone asking about changing to another company because his current employer was not being fair. So when you mock, please make it clear that you are not the one standing in the line of fire and you are not the one who wants to stand in the line of fire. You just wants to be the one to mock and ridicule. If you are serious about taking the baton, please let us know your phone number and we will post it on the website so that people can call you when they have a question. Lets talk about passing the baton, how about we start from posting your phone number on the website, lets see how you take that challenge. No one is paid to work on IV. People spend time on this effort out of their good-will and passion for the cause. So please be respectful towards others for their efforts. And please stop being a pain in the neck and talk some sense if you are serious about picking up the baton. Email us your phone number and you will see it on the website within an hour.

That too does not give you license to use derogatory language. In last over 2.5 years we have answered many thousands questions in forums, emails and phone calls. I have heard many a times from my fellow team mates that not once did anyone receive a Thank you note from someone after that someone was fully able to resolve the situation after receiving reply from my colleagues at IV. None of us spend time on this cause to receive a Thank you note, however, posts like yours makes us wonder that are we a community of thankless educated immigrants who are so obsessed with our individual case that all that we want is instant gratification to exactly know the current status of our green cards, without which automatically IV is at fault. Just so that you know, people spend 30 sometimes 40 hours a week over the period of years, just to read a post from someone like you. We received a call at 12:30am yesterday from someone asking about changing to another company because his current employer was not being fair. So when you mock, please make it clear that you are not the one standing in the line of fire and you are not the one who wants to stand in the line of fire. You just wants to be the one to mock and ridicule. If you are serious about taking the baton, please let us know your phone number and we will post it on the website so that people can call you when they have a question. Lets talk about passing the baton, how about we start from posting your phone number on the website, lets see how you take that challenge. No one is paid to work on IV. People spend time on this effort out of their good-will and passion for the cause. So please be respectful towards others for their efforts. And please stop being a pain in the neck and talk some sense if you are serious about picking up the baton. Email us your phone number and you will see it on the website within an hour.
Now its time for you to go to all the forums of the world and say that IV Admin is rude and dictatorial or whatever.

Dude, i dont even know who GCStatus is. If you want i can give my IP address. Dont spread false news here, saying that GCStatus and I are the same and we are sending message from Same Machine. Here is my IP Address 192.168.1.2 and I live in Pittsburgh. If you want, I can give you my I-485 receipt number for you to verify that Iam not GCStatus. If you want to talk to me, let me know, I will give my phone number. Now dont tell me, We are same person but different voice. lol... ( FYI.. that was a joke ).

Thanks for your suggestion. But the problem is its not that simple. Here is why. If the same individual create multiple IDs on IV and post using multiple IDs, one for posting derogatory comments and others that are not derogatory, we can keep mum to a point, but then it just gets too frustrating. Like in this case, madhuvj and GCStatus is the same person posting from the same machine but posting as if you are two different individuals. Hence my posts. Please stop this and email/pm us your phone number and we will start the transition process. We are sure you will do a better job than us.
You see, just like everyone else, we also have limited number of hours in a day. We can either spend our time looking at who is using multiple forum ids to post similar messages creating a false impression for other forum visitor, like the one projected in 'if i can be blunt' thread, or we can spend our time doing better things. Your actions are not helping anyone including yourself. Hope you understand.
