Hey, I am still left with 5 more days for my 90 day period. Would you suggest me to go ahead and take the Info pass?? Am not sure, does the info pass schedule has a waiting period too?
I would suggest to go ahead and take infopass appointment as the chances are that you might not get appointment right away, if you have a choice on selecting dates, take one after 5 days, so you have passed 90th day.
take the PDF june 12th memo with you as well.
If you are lucky and get your card prod. email , you can cancel infopass anytime.

EB3 ROW is at Jun 2004. But as per latest USCIS inventory, EB3 ROW pending 485's are around 48,000. Visa numbers available every year for EB3 is approximately 42k. If you deduct the backlogged EB3 countries (4x3000) visa numbers, the total comes down to 30k for EB3 ROW. So EB3 ROW should become current or atleast Jul 07 in another 1.5 years. If this is not going to happen, it means they are diverting the EB3 numbers to some other categories.
my 2 cents
Note : If EB3 ROW has 30k visas per year and pending EB3 ROW 485's are only 50k.. why it is still hanging in 2004. God only knows !!
I was curious too about EB3 ROW not progressing. The only explanation could be that there were lot of consular cases with older PDs. (Or USCIS chose to ignore EB3 altogether. Remember the couple of hundred EB3-I visas wasted by USCIS recently.)

We need to maintain calm in these testing times... Not just for evey member but more so for people who are in the Core teams and doing the day to day activities behind the scene,,,,
We all know we cannot have all ~9000 member working on the issue simultaneously....too many cooks will spoil the broth....so lets play our designated roles..Right now every non core member should just contribute - even $20 is good enough...Imagine $20 * 9000 = $180,000....which could almost match our all time collections yet....
I again request folks to play their role in this moment rather than just sitting idle and waiting for something to happen.....

The very very first, if not only reason for both party to work on this issue is to gain their vote. What do you gain by giving them goodies but does not offer them a chance to appreciate you back (vote)?
I dont know what is so hard about this deadlock. Dont they know that if:
1. Illegals are given temporary visas for them to return after a number of years, no-body would come forward. The illegals would see this as shooting themselves in the foot. They would prefer to remain in the dark and live here permanently. Purpose defeated.
2. A tough enforcement only bill is passed, with the hope that there would be attrition after a while: How long would it take for all 12 million illegals to finally leave? 1 million per year? 500K per year? 24 years? Yeah right! Ok assuming they leave at a rate of 500K per year (which I know wouldnt happen) what would be the rate of inflow of more illegals?? What would be the balance of illegals after say 10 years? Think about it.
3. Give them a path to citizenship. Well they are here anyways but this idea might jeopardize the bill.
So my proposal is: Since a path to citizenship is the major road block to this bill, make a law that gives the Illegals an opportunity for GC but include in the law that Anybody that ever comes into the country illegally CAN NOT become a citizen. i.e they can get a green card but they can never be eligible for citizenship. I am sure this is a reasonable middle ground. a path to PR but not citizenship. I am sure those illegals dont care about citizenship anyways. They just want to be free and be mobile.
Just my thots.

From my reading, it looks like Dems can get lot of mileage from CIR for the election, whether it passes or not .
If the bill passes, good for Dems because now the populace knows that Dems worked towards it and many republicans opposed it.
If the bill does not pass, Dems can say Republicans killed the humane bill and they can not deliver anything (in last 4 years, huge surplus has become huge deficit; reengineering of Social Security failed; war was started by misleading people and good allies were dealienated and there is no end in sight; Katrina was bungled; President could not get his candidate to become judge, NSA wiretapping issue and now republicans can't even work out immigration policy and think gay marriage and flag burning are the most important issues of our time). Hispanics for the decades will go with Dems.
So whichever way bill goes, Dems benefits. What they do not benefit from is by letting this bill go into oblivion. Hence unless some major issue comes up to distract the attention of nation (like Iran, terrorist attacks), Dems will try to keep immigration in limelight. (But it may die from attention overkill, desensitization)
My take.
probably implies that they are looking for a way to quietly kill the bill using procedures so that no one is red faced, come election time...

Looks like approvals has slowed down further.
This is why at the end of the year there are unused visas. All due to inefficiencies of USCIS.
We are doomed.
You guys noticed that the approval rate has really slumped on for EB3 ROW?

Hello,
I have sent my Passport for renewal to CGI Houston, TX. I have shipped it via FEDEX on Oct 19 and it reached CGI Houston on Oct 21. It was signed by some one by name Kohli.
In the Site its mentioned, the renewal will take 7 business days. Based on this thread, I see that it might take around 3 weeks time
Can anyone tell me, Whether CGI houston communicates to us once the passport is dispatched? Will they give FEDEX / USPS tracking number to track? I want to make sure that some one will be at home to collect it.
Thanks in advance

This is the link from 95-2001
http://dosfan.lib.uic.edu/ERC/visa_bulletin/
there was retrogression in 99, but after the recapture of numbers under ac21, there was no retrogression from july 2001 till 2005
Chronography of facts
EB was current from AUGUST 1999 until April 2000.
This warning was issued in the March 2000 VB:
VISA AVAILABILITY FOR APRIL(2000)
Demand for immigrant visa numbers by INS for AOS cases in all categories, continues to be steady but has not reached the level requiring action at this time. It is anticipated that INS demand for numbers will require the establishment of visa cut-off dates for April in some or all of the CHINA-mainland born and INDIA Employment categories.
In May 2000. EB2 was retrogressed to 01JUL97 for China and 01APR99 for India
In December 2000 VB the big announcement came:
Greater availability of EB immigrant visas: On October 17th, the President signed P.L. 106-313. Title I of this law is known as the "American Competitiveness in the Twenty-first Century Act of 2000" and contains amendments to the INA regarding EB immigrant visas.
In fiscal years 1999 and 2000, due in part to the per-country limits, the annual limit for EB immigrant visas was not reached. P.L. 106-313 makes the following changes in an attempt to rectify the situation with regard to per-country limits:
Section 106 recaptures those EB visa numbers that were available but not used in fiscal years 1999 and 2000, creating a "pool" of approximately 130,000 numbers. These numbers could be made available to applicants in the EB1, EB2 and EB3 preference categories beginning in fiscal year 2001.
Section 104 removes the per-country limit in instances where the overall applicant demand for EB visas is less than the numbers available without regard to those limits. This determination will be made quarterly, based on a comparison of the overall demand versus the available numbers. If the total number of available EB visas is greater than the number of qualified applicants who may otherwise be issued such visas (during the same period), the per-country limitations on EB visas will be lifted for the remainder of that quarter.
In May 2001 EB2 became current again for both India and China.
July 2001 VB:
EMPLOYMENT-BASED PREFERENCE CATEGORIES:
All categories have become "Current" for July, and are expected to remain so for the remainder of FY-2001. The cut-off date movement in all oversubscribed categories has been extremely rapid during the past year. This is because the FY-2001 limit is approximately 50,000 higher than normal, and legislative changes removed the per-country limitation if there are otherwise unused EB numbers available.
All categories are expected to remain "Current" for the foreseeable future.
January 2005 VB
OVERSUBSCRIPTION OF EB3 FOR CHINA, INDIA, AND THE PHILPPINES
June 2005 VB
EMPLOYMENT VISA AVAILABILITY DURING THE REMAINDER OF FY-2005
During the past month there has been a significant increase in the amount of numbers being used by CIS offices for AOS applicants. This level of demand has significantly depleted the supply of EB numbers available under the annual limit. Recent discussions with CIS have made it clear that their backlog reduction efforts will sustain or increase the current level of demand. Therefore, continued visa availability in the EB categories cannot be guaranteed during the final quarter of FY-2005. If demand continues at the current rate, it will be necessary to oversubscribe many or all of the EB categories on a Worldwide basis. Such oversubscription could result in the establishment of cut-off dates, retrogression of already established dates, or some categories becoming unavailable.
July 2005 VB
EMPLOYMENT VISA AVAILABILITY FOR JULY AND THE REMAINDER OF FY-2005
EB3 and Third Other Worker categories have reached their annual limits and no further FY-2005 allocations are possible for the period July through September.
September 2005 VB
EMPLOYMENT VISA AVAILABILITY DURING FY-2006
The backlog reduction efforts of both CIS, and the DOL continue to result in very heavy demand for EB numbers. It is anticipated that the amount of such cases will be sufficient to use all available numbers in many categories. As a result cut-off dates in the EB3 category will apply to the China, India, and Philippines chargeabilities beginning in October, and it is possible that Mexico may be added to this list. In addition, it is anticipated that heavy demand will require the establishment of a EB3 cut-off date on a Worldwide basis by December.
The amount of Employment demand for applicants from China and India is also likely to result in the oversubcription of the EB1 and B2 categories for those chargeability areas. The establishment of such cut-off dates is expected to occur no later than December.
The level of demand in the Employment categories is expected to be far in excess of the annual limits, and once established, cut-off date movements are likely to be slow.
October 2005 VB:
EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCE VISA AVAILABILTIY
Item D in the September VB announcing the September cut-off dates provided information regarding the prospects of visa availability during the early months of FY-2006. Many categories have become oversubscribed for October, and cut-off dates established due to continued heavy demand for numbers by CIS for adjustment of status cases. Forward movement of the cut-off dates in these categories is likely to be limited.
And IV was born.
Have a nice weekend.

I would just say, stay positive..in my case, I have more than 10 years of experience in specialized Healthcare IT area, with a masters degree and a PMP and I am struck in EB3 due to attorney screw up. I let out my frustration by concentrating on my career, finished my Masters and my PMP during this horrible wait. May be I wouldn't have done it if I was not waiting..We never know..Just send your thoughts in the positive direction and things will fall in place. Life goes on...
Well, I would say a year more of waiting time is kind of not okay. Already waited for so many years.
Though not offending, its pathetic to see recent EB 2 filers getting greend quickly while EB 3I, even oldest filers, are sucked in mud. No rationale et all...
God help EB3I

This has become a ranting thread of EB3 folks. One simple question:
How many of you EB3 India folks who are complaining actually went to Washingtno DC last month for IV Advocacy event?
I hear it was not even 250 people. If you take out all EB2 people, so few EB3 people. This means EB3 people do not really want to do anything but after every visa bulletin come to the site and rant.
We in EB2 do not have much to worry. Our dates will move fast. But you EB3 had a chance last month and you blew it by not doing anything. So stop complaining.
What makes you think that there were no EB3s at the advocacy event and many of EB3s who did not attend contributed to the cause monetarily.....which apparently seem to be helping BE2. May be you should cut the crap and thank EB3s instead of bitching about it.

To whoever left the comment in my profile "why all this love for US Passport?"
It all depends on what country you are a citizen of. If you are a passport holder of a country like Canada,Autralia or most european countries, then you may not see much benefit in holding a US passport when travelling. But people from certain other countries, have to go through the hassle of obtaining visas prior to international travel, vacations etc. Sometimes we even have to get transit visas for countries that we pass through on our way to the final destinations. And these visas cost money. But if you hold a US passport/citizen of the US, then they do not make you jump through all those hoops. You board the plane and you get a visitors visa once you land in almost all countries (there are exceptions, India and Australia for example). But there it is. That is one of the priviledges of having a US passport.

GC is a future job offer - and at the time of adjucation of 485, u must have a valid job offer. till that date u can stay in the US even without working for any employer but at the time of adjucation u must be employed in a similar position.

It looks like to me that Porters strike again. they have eaten all the Visa's. very few approvals so far. I am worried about next bulletin now. dates can go back now. every EB3 is porting to EB2.
we see the results. they will block EB2 too.
Yes you are right, i agree with you
