Got greened finally. Just checked today morning. (Both me and my wife status changed to CPO)
It shows the CPO on 08/05/2010. No e-mail /text message
Was cheking my mobile once in a while to get text message from USCIS, but no luck, may be due to their system isssues yesterday.
PD: Jan 13th,2006
140 AD: Oct 17th,2006 ( from TSC)
I-485 Filed myself, sent the application on (06/30/2007) to reach NSC on 07/02/2007.
It was transferred to TSC.
RD: 07/02/2007, ND: 09/04/2007.
(Did not used attorney for I-485 as I thought they might mess up the application due to July Fiasco)
Applied 3 EADs for me and my Spouse. Applied one AP in 2009.
Actions taken by me:
Spoke to IO on August 2nd and he told that Case assigned to officer on July 28th.
Sent an e-mail to tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov on August3rd. (Got reply on Aug 5th, that case is reviewd by officer)
Sent an e-mail to Streamline.Tsc@dhs.gov on August 3rd. (No reply yet)
Raised SR on August4th (No response yet). (I don't think it made any difference).
Applied for AP (on July 26th) though i don't need now. [thought it may trigger GC approval, Check was en-cashed on 08/02 but no receipt yet]
Working with the same employer for the last 4.5 years..
I went to Infopass twice in last 2 years...but they did not revealed any info.
My GC journey ends after 6 years of arriving in US (on H1).
Will be contributing to IV soon...:)

USCIS usually transfer the aplications to differrent service centers to load balance, they did that to applications in 2007 July as well...
Mine was transferred to CA and I got my EAD/AP quickly... then my 485 was transferred back to whereever it belonged...

I did not take infopass appointment. I called the Customer Service on May 6th and opened a service request and today I got a request for evidence from USCIS. I am able to see this online but did not receive any letter. I think we should receive the letter by the end of the week...very frustrating...

BharatPremi Please tell me I am wrong! i collected some data... and just by looking at it... it seems like EB3 will move very very slowly not as per your prediction! I m not a stats guru perhaps you or anyone who is a stats guru can shed some light here!
What is your EB3-India PD (I-485 either pending, or not yet filed)
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6203
Total Applicants (that voted) = 206
_______________
% distribution
_______________
43.21% 2001/2002/2003
25.25% 2004
16.51% 2005
13.59% 2006
1.46% 2007
_______________
Total Visa available / country = 140000/7% = 9800 in a year
Keep aside 10% for other categories, so 90% available for EB2 and EB3
9800 - 980 = 8820 total available for India EB2/EB3
50-50 between eb2 eb3 (assumption - probably a bad assumption)
4410/year available for EB3?
(This is where it really gets tricky!)
ASSUMPTION -
Approximate Indian EB3 Applications
Total Indian applicants / 2 (50-50 between eb2 and eb3)
Total 200k (low estimate) so EB3 100k approx
+ 100k Dependants = 200k Total EB3
Year 2001/2002/2003 = 43.21% = 46286
Number of years to clear off Backlog (2003 and prior) = 46286/4410 = 10 1/2 years
Up until 1/5/2007 PD was stable at around 5/8/2001
I think EB3 movement will be very slow based on above calculations
EDIT: Even if Unused Visas get funneled down to EB3 India > cut the time in 1/2 still looks like 4-5 years to clear EB3 < 2003
Does this sound right?

Let me start saying that I am not 'stats guru' either.
My simple way of looking at it is the way it happened in June-July 2007. Why did they open the gates? To use up the VISA numbers for the FY.
What can they do to do the same this year? Open it again (may not make it current but to the extent they can use 140000 by Sep 30 2008).
As most 485 applications will notbe processed for another 6-9 months (among Jun-Aug filers), dates will move forward (may become current as well) and whoever has their 485, name check processed will get their GC besides all pending at CP.
They definitely do not have 140000 processed, name-check-completed 485 applications at hand. Hence dates will move.

I was thinking this for a long time, and I totally agree with you...
The only and simple way to stop H1B abuse is to allow only max 10% non-immigrant (H1, L1, TN etc) employee in a company. Rest 90% have to be Green Card or Citizen. These desi consulting, Indian big companies must be hving at leaset 90 % employees on non-immigrant status.
Simple and universal rule that will solve all the H1B problems

Slammer, if you got visa number last year you should have gotten an interview months back, UNLESS your consulate appoinment schedule is backlogged.
Good luck
Sorry, should have said that the NVC had visa numbers for us - last year. Of course we won't hear anything from them until our PD becomes current.
But thanks for the tip to simply call the NVC and inquire about the status of our application, until now we only called the automated system and sent inquiries by email. Talking personally to someone might give some more information than the automated response :"Numbers are not yet available."
I'll keep you posted ! And good luck to us all in the future ! :)

we have 1000s of people debating about a bill on IV, but there are less than 10 people actually talking to the lawmakers to get the bill to come on the floor.
The real work is to talk to the lawmakers so this bill has a chance to come on the floor, if and only if it comes on the floor, we can then discuss how we can tweak it to benefit all EB Categories and add ammendments.
Otherwise, it is just one of the 100's of bills that will never ever even be debated.

Hi I am in process of filing 2nd PERM EB2 next month, my attroney says if the new position and job req is different then I should be fine(which is different than my previous Eb3 with 140 approved, Other Contries). But during my research I found some of the people are saying if 2nd PERM is file for Same employee , diff postion with same employer , it will hang at DOL for ever and I also found below posting only on Zhang & Associate:
DOLs Rules about Multiple PERM Filings for the Same Person
About the PERM multiple filings, the DOL recently confirmed that if an employer has an APPROVED PERM application and files a second PERM for the same employee and a different occupation, the DOL will issue an audit requesting the return of the first application or an explanation of why there is a second application being filed and the first application can not be returned. The DOL is working on providing an FAQ which outlines acceptable situations where they will approve a subsequent PERM application.
The DOL also stated that if an employer has an APPROVED PERM application and files a second PERM for the same employee and the same occupation that the case will be auto denied. The DOL acknowledged that this poses a problem because there are valid reasons (e.g. change in worksite location) for filing a subsequent case and is working on this situation. In the meantime, the employer must either decide to withdraw the first case before filing the second case or file a motion to reconsider on the second case if it is denied explaining why it couldnt withdraw the first case.

Better to renew right away. You can renew up to 6 months before expire date.
Expiry date is 15 months away. Can I still renew? I'm not too sure but I guess one can't renew before 12 months of expiry date. Is this true?

Hi,
Yesterday I had received the CPO and welcome email. Today again I have reveived the CPO email.
Is this NORMAL or should i be worried.
Are they gonna issue me 2 GC, just to compensate the long and painful wait :)

The USCIS will send you a summons for your fingerprints. You will have to go to wherever they mandate. The fingerprints only have a fifteen month validity.
The medical exams are usually a two day event. One day to do the exams and then they write up the report when they get your blood work results from the lab.
While you are waiting you can work on developing the patience of Job.

I would say 90 % in the same boat :p No sweat. They will do an immunization test. You could even get the vaccinations taken
I am sure some of us do not have vaccination records, but have gone thru vaccinations back in India....The record keeping is a recent phenomenon...any body in the same boat and have gone thru same phase
