I have a question regarding I-485 finger prints. Can I goto local USCIS office for fingerprints without original FP notice. I have a copy of the FP receipt notice sent by my lawyer by e-mail.

If u have not recieved ur original fp notice and if lawyer recieved the courtesy copy of ur fp notice,u can take that print and attend ur fp appointment as scheduled.I did not recieve my fp notice by mail,but went and attended successfully my fp appointment with lawyer's copy.Just take passport and ur driver's license for photo identity.(passport only for safe side).

I was in the same boat and I can tell you that you have to pretty much depand on your company attorney. In my case it took 2-3 inch thick stack of documents to prove the relationship of the US company with its foreign subsidiary and if you are trying to get L-1A (multinational executive/manager), it will take another bunch of documents to prove your credibility, your existing status with the company as a manager/executive in the foreign subsidiary, your proposed role in the US company and a lot more. I guess it would be wise for you to let the attorney handle the case as you probably won't have much to do with the whole process. However, the positive news for you is that almost all of the well documented and properly filed L-1 petitions are approved by USCIS, and any experienced immigration attorney won’t have much of a problem getting you approved.:)

I am in a similar situation and need to travel. Applied for my AP on Apr/20/2010. I have put in an expedited request a week ago but still no response. Just booked an Infopass appointment for Feb/04/2011. Wanted to make it is fine and any suggestions on what I should carry with me.

Currently on H4 and validity expires on 09/23/2010. Can be applied for extension when principal applicants H1B is being extended(from his company), but since I have my H1B case filed with USCIS, will it create any conflict if I apply for H4 extension now? (ideally for 7 days (23rd sept to 30th sept) !! 'coz if approved, H1B status becomes valid from Oct 1st, right? )
Also, is there any rule which states that, when a case is pending with USCIS, legally you are not supposed to leave the country?

As far as I know, since you are past 180 days of 485 filing, you are ok. You can stay in the country based on your pending 485 application. You can take whatever time it takes for you to get a job in your same/similar job classification. However, if your 485 is close to approval, then you need to hurry to find the job, since a job offer is required at the time of adjudication of 485. This will depend on your country of chargeability and PD. If you are from India/china/philippines/mexico with a later PD, you should be ok as long as you find a job in the same or similar classification.
Others can correct me if I am wrong.

I have PD which is current (Jun 03 EB2 India), a RD which is current (Jun 05! yes VSC transfer to TSC in Apr 07). In the last week of Nov 07 got a simple RFE (medical RFE wherein the doc forgot to check one box), which was replied promptly and got confirmation from USCIS that they got the response.
Have been following up with USCIS (service request, POJ-TSC from April 7th). Got a soft LUD today (04/22/2008). does it mean anything ?

If I move to another company as soon as my 3 year H1B extension comes through and they start my GC process again, what do I have to be careful about regarding
1. Is this even possible?
2. Will the H1B keep getting extended after I switch employers.
3. Can I keep my PD?
4. If the new company is in a slightly different field but my job remains similar, does that matter?
5. What happens if after I transfer, my current employer revokes my i-140? Does that matter since my new employer will restart my GC process anyway? (Also, do i get to keep my PD in this case?)

No. No. No. No. Your spouse can do anything with that EAD. Your spouse can do multiple jobs but once your spouse starts using EAD spouse's H-1 gets void.Me and my spouse both work on H1B and I am applying for I-485 along with EAD/AP for both me and my spouse. My question is since my spouse is already in H1B with certain job title which was mentioned in one of the documents that was filled with i-485, when spouse uses EAD does she need to be looking for similiar jobs only?. Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

I have a curious situation. I have filed EB3-485 as a secondary applicant to my wife. I am currently in a job where I can't file a green card ( this is my 5th year of H1b). My understanding is one can't have a seventh year extension for H1b unless his I-140 is approved.
Should I consider changing the job and filing another GC by myself. I know I can continue renewing EAD but I still want to keep my H1b

Just apply for labor and once the labor is approved apply for I140 (Apply in premium if USCIS starts accepting premium by the time your labor is approved). If premium is not started by the time your labor is approved then apply I140 in regular and wait for premium to start. you can change your I140 Application to premium even though you filed it in regular processing originally.
Who knows you might get the I140 approval in regular processing also before your 6 years is complete.

My major concerns are:
1. once I get the notice for FingerPrints, can I reschedule it to Feb'08.
Is it advisable.
OR
