2. I think you DO need PD to be current for GC approval. In best case scenario, GC could be approved in matter of 10-15 days, so for July filers there were some GC numbers available, and few lucky ones got their approvals. This is how I see it... please correct me if I'm wrong.

Please go and take some english writting classes first. Your english is very poor. Taking some classes will help you in longterm. MBA in US is taught in english not telgu. An MBA from a shady univ is not going to help you anyway and USCIS is cracking down hard on bogus porting these days.

Oh, I trust the attorneys to file it correctly, I was just wondering if there was any way of finding out if it was received and processed correctly. With the H1B, 140, 485, etc. you get a receipt notice, but I wasn't sure if that was the case with the G28, probably not.
The thought of the remote possibility of any correspondence from the USCIS going to the old attorney (for whatever reason), and not making it to me/new attorney in time to respond to it, is a little unnerving.
Well, anyway, no point losing sleep over these things, although it is easier said than done.

I agree. And this has happened. This happens NOT because new Attorney's G 28 did not get filed properly, it happens because VO may mix it up. Usually when a employer requests a revocation of 140 - in real - what the employer requests is "As this employee has left the company the prospects of his future employment with us is not there and we will not support this 140 petition in future. In other words an employer is telling INS "They will never hire you in future".
So the VO does two things here. They send acknowledgment letters to the employer and their Attorney on file and send RFE/NOID to you and your Attorney. In this process some mix up might happen. Remember, a lot of VOs are very ignorant about AC21 and they may not follow the guidelines properly. Under the AC21 law it is clear that all you do is to change job to a same/similar position. As long as you follow law nothing must happen.
Check your online status regularly - if you see LUDs call customer service - verify your address. If you do not get mail in 5 days - call again - if it is 15 days past call and ask them to fax it.

When I start shopping for Life insurance. I asked for written from insurance .
1. If I moved permanently to India , will it be applicable there too. Yes
2. H1 candidate eligible. Yes
only NYlife given me in written. rest of them didn't give in written. metlife I didn't try.
I have 20 yr term disability and termlife insurance also.They added $52 for disability.
few of them told me yes verbally but hesitate to give in written.

Looks like you are also a candidate with three year bachelors degree and a namesake masters from US univ that you bought and which put you in EB2.

I am not sure what a job in "forture 500" means :) but there are tonns of people, with no US degree, working for "fortune" 100 companies like MS, GE etc .
Further to that, many reputed US university, including many of the state schools, offer Part time Masters course which per you is not legit.
As I said earlier, I challenge you -- say in black and white whether a part time or online MBA from a school like University of Massachusetts or University of Nebraska is legit or not.

If you have plans to travel...could you go to the local INS office and get the AP??.AP is very important too if you are traveling.
For most cases, this is NOT an issue as they are on H1/L1/H4/L2 status while filing for I-485. They can simply travel on H1/H4/L1/L2 visa.

Like you I had been waiting since 2005 (when my labor and I 140 got approved) for my PD to be current. Now that its been current since October 1, 2008 and even had been current in few months in early 2008 I realize that its just one more wait.
Nothing is going top happen by increasing quota unless USCIS speeeds up processing and decised to process based on a documented criteia (right now its completely random as TSC and NSC are out of synch and neither seems to follow any sequence of PD, ND or RD).
Me and others like me have been waiting since 2001 and we are still stuck even though PD is current. We have a special thread for us who are pre OCt 2001 PD and are still waiting. So if anything focus on getting USCIS to process orderly and efficiently. If you increase quota but dont change USCIS behaviour you will be worse off.

I agree that career development opps are limited due to economic reasons, but there is no way toronto or vancouver is any more racist than atlanta or miami. Who said there is no discrimination against white collar workers in the US as well .. if not how do you explain so many people supporting illegal aliens, but nobody breathing a word about us ? Lets face it , the corporates here need us but many native born white collar workers actively hate us. Thats how you have so much opposition to H1-B and EB visas from the likes of programmer's guild and other labor unions.

Well I jumped a little too early :) and opened a SR in July. The following is the response I received:

This would be the last visa bulletin for this year. The dates should move just like they did last year to consume all numbers.
For September they can do anything for consuming leftover visas, including a large unsustainanble forward move, but we hope that visas are used for preadjudicated cases in PD sequence (as is described in USCIS procedure manual). However, from October on it appears that dates will only move forward systematically. Reason is that USCIS systems are not designed for handling per country quotas well, which hinders any country quota based information until a file has been opened for adjudication (or preadjudication). There is no per country data readily available on entirely pending cases (except on your paper filings), as initial data entry does not include chargeable country name. However, as we have recently noticed, a lot of cases are getting preadjudicated, which makes chargeable country information available. This should help USCIS estimate monthly demand better.
Bottomline is, if all three of the following conditions are true for you, you should expect good results in coming months.
(1) Your case has no hickups, you have provided all necessary documentation.
(2) Your 'Receive Date (RD)' (not what is on your receipt, but 'true' RD by a center which is on or close to Notice Date) is within published dates for current processing status (suggesting that your case has been preadjudicated)
(3) Your PD is quite high in relation to monthly visa bulletins

Good find !! After reading this article, I guess, USCIS would well support our demand for filing I-485 when PDs not current as it will give them more $$$ from EAD and AP extensions.
