Hi,
Filed at NSC on Jul 21st. Received as per FedEx receipt on Jul 23rd. Transferred I-485s, EADs and APs applications from NSC to CSC.
Received EADs and APs on Sept 25th from CSC.
Sept 18th notice received that I-485s have been moved back from CSC to NSC.
Rceipt date for transfer notice is Sept 18th. Dont see my actual Jul 23rd date anywhere.
When I posted this on , posters suggested that there is a "Receipt Notice" versus a "Transfer Notice".
My lawyer received the receipt notice. Will check with him about the Receipt date on that notice and post later today.
Any other ideas what this all means would be appreciated.
Seems like a ping pong ball being hit from one center to another with no result

Yes, there is no point in re-filing,rather it will create confusion. I spoke to USCIS ,at this point the fedex receipt no. is good enough ,to prve that your application reached service center, before 17th august . Now it makes sense to just wait for the receipt.

EAD, AP & FP notice are sent directly to the applicant. If you see the status of AP as document mailed then you should get within 2/3 days as they send by DHL. I got mine in 2 days, my wife also got in 2 days
AP is sent to the lawyer if you filed the G328

So those guys who attended the hearings or met with senators. what was the result? what did they accomplished? did they get the opportunity to participate with the senator or law maker in an action plan? or we just wasted that opportunity asking for autographs? please those guys post your comments. - I strongly object to the language used in your post. How can you say the IV members just went to get the autographs. If you were involved in any of the meetings with the lawmeekers, you would know the difference. Just don't come here for name sake and post whatever you want.

Medical - $145

USPS - $35
Fees - $650
Total: ~850
Intangible:
1) Advanced my engagement date. Tried to arrange an earlier marriage date. Placed everybody involved, my fiancee, her parents, her brothers, my parents and myself under huge pressure. All the bad reputation which I am facing now because of all that.
2) Bad reputation at work for not focusing on the job and the time that I took off from work to fix appointments for medical.
3) Most importantly the frustration and disappointment from this huge mess.
Lessons learned:
1) DO NOT trust USCIS or DOS, they are here not to help us nor make things easier for us.
2) G.C. process is mainly based on luck and not on merit.
3) We Indians have a bad reputation among Americans, for their allegations that we are taking away their jobs.
4) Bottomline, our life in USA is coming to an close. Time to have our bags packed and ready to relocate back to home.

please also look at your respective state chapter threads
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17
and send messages to all members in your state chapter threads requesting them to join you in meetings.
If you don't get anyone, then take appointments yourself anyways without delay. Once you get the appointment, try to find more people in your state to come with you. If not go there yourselves equipped with all the information Varsha and Sanjay have provided. Each member meeting is very important to the overall success of this community.

Read the message clearly before posting. He already mentioned that she could not win the H1B lottery.
She can still try for not for profit companies... and if she lands with a job their situation will be better off then waiting for the next years lottery or waiting for his 2005 PD to become current

Below are some links for those who are looking for visa stamping related 'disaster' stories.... I think this is a lost cause since the DOS/DHS really does not care...justice and fairness is probably not in their dictionary.

Re-capture, STEM un-capping, "one visa number per family" or other such legislative action/executive order is the ONLY way any retrogressed EB category will see relief.
Recapture too is a one time solution that will just get rid of the CURRENT backlog. In future, EB application numbers need to be tied to number H, J, L,O and other visa types
Otherwise, its same sh!t, just side view

I think for few people this might be bad news. Some people changed their job without I-140 being approved. Sorry guys...i used AC21 but i have approved I-140.
Form I-140 Petition Must be Approved Prior to a Favorable Determination of a 106(c) AC21 portability request.
On October 18, 2005, USCIS designated Matter of Al Wazzan, A95 253 422 (Jan. 12, 2005) as a USCIS Adopted Decision. This AAO decision established that a petition that is deniable (i.e., not approvable), whether or not the petition is denied 180 days or more after the filing of the adjustment of status application, cannot serve as the basis for approval of adjustment of status to permanent residence under the portability provision of INA 204(j). An un-adjudicated Form I-140 petition is not made valid merely through the act of filing the petition with USCIS or through the passage of 180 days. Rather, the petition must have been filed on behalf of an alien who was entitled to the employment-based classification at the time that the petition was filed, and therefore must be approved prior to a favorable determination of a 106(c) AC21 portability request.

I beg to differ with your opinion about using the walmart bags are trash bags.
One of the reason that I can think of is...
There are apartments where kitchens are so small where you are forced to buy small trash cans and stuff them under the sinck. The best way to fit these can's is with Shopping Bags, not with 5 or 10 gallon's garbbage bag.
Brahmam and Company -
This is the height of Frugality sir  . Contribute something to this society instead looting(??) everything from here and wiring to Bank of India or whatever:p .There should be a limit to this nonsense questions to be posted for Members to Read and Answer. Please grow up in life.Few Dollars here and there will not make this World upside down nor will it buy huge real estate lands in your Place. Also, buy Trash-bags for throwing Trash instead of use Walmart plastic to throw into Dumpsters. Some in my Apts do that all the time inspite of Property Managers advising against doing it.you fall in this Category.
To answer your Question, Walmart is the cheapest for anything .Period.Why?? Please see this Documentary 'Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price '.

Hi Ebizash-
Did you noticed any LUD today on ure AP renewal case
Ken,
The reason that the USPS is not showing your documents delivered could be many. One of the biggest reasons that I have experienced is "unable to scan the bar code". This is more probable if you had printed the mailing label and affixed it on the envelope with a tape. Sometimes the tape can overlap the bar code making the bar code difficult to be scanned. I frequently use USPS priority mail and in about 10% of the cases this happens. But I never had a lost priority mail piece.
Additionally the fact that you had a soft LUD on 9/28, I would think that LUD was for the reason that USCIS received the documents. I had applied AP online on the same date as you did, sent docs via priority mail the next day. USPS showed that the documents delivered on 9/25 and had soft LUDs on 9/25 and 9/28.
Hope this helps!

Sanbaj, Is there any update regarding your case ?
None so far. No updates from the Lawyer or any LUD change. My I485 RD is 08/16/07, and NSC has not reached that date as yet. My lawyer's office called and the response was "The request is attached to the file (485)". I called NSC and the IO there DO NOT know the meaning of Interfiling and the IO I got was very rude and in a hurry to finish the call. She said that these officers should not give us (AOS Adjustees) any info, please inform me if any USCIS officer has broken that rulw. I said no one has and finished the call. Now, I am waiting, as have been for last six years for various things on the GC journey, for NSC I485 Processing status to go beyond Aur/16/2007. Once it does, I will call them again.
Sorry, I was late in the response as I did not check this thread for a month or so.

We as a community have not even done 5 % of the hard work that DREAM act advocates have done. So such provisions are well deserved by them for the hard work they have done. If we had done enough work for our provisions, there is no doubt our provisions would have seen the day. You need to do some search on all the DREAM act advocates have done in the last few years to reach where they are now. And then compare it our community effort and you will get the answers.
We recently had an advocacy day. How many of you contributed to it. We failed to even reach a modest budget goal for such a big event. So there is no point blaming undocumented. We need to first blame ourselves for doing nothing.
I am not blaming any one. We as leagal immigrants spent money in taxes and uscis fees. They spent the money for the campaign and lobbying.
I do feel we spent more than their campaign in taxes and fees.
