I understand you dont care about the United States and its people and youre only interested in what you can gain from them but if you werent so blinded by greed youd see this is something else they can give to you. Now I know why I took the route I did, I would have accomplished far less in my personal life with the likes of you. In fact, I may doing to much sharing my expertise with you. I refuse to have my name tarnished any further. Besides, youre only a beginner. What was I thinking? IV really ought to make it clear to everyone that this is an amateur site. Maybe by changing its name to Beginning Immigration. IV definitely is not the voice of Immigration my voice is different from IVs and Im dealing with immigration. I may have to contact the internet higher-ups about this farse.

I was wondering if someone will mention F-22.
First of all, F-22 is not for sale. Period. There is no such thing as a close ally as far as F-22 is concerned. Even the Israelis got a curt NO when they wanted to buy it.

Second, IAF does not want the F-22. It is US$ 150 Million a piece which makes it almost twice as expensive as any of the planes being considered. Also, if you look at the IAF's area of operation: F-22 is an overkill. None of the neighboring countries and this includes China has capabilities that will necessitate something like F-22 to deal with.

Thanks for contacting IV with your SOS.
An IV core member is going to be helping you to fix this with USCIS. Let us know if you need help. He already tried contacting you yesterday.

As IV grows maybe this is a help IV can extend to all its donor members and help them if they get in such extreme distress situations. This is one of the ideas we are thinking for our members in the donor group.

It's great to know that IV extends it's hand to help it's members when in need. More reason to contribute. I know i will again this month. Thanks IV Core.

According to what radhay said it looks like your case can be overturned based on the mistake lying on the lawyers part.

You can make whatever you like of the current situtation, but let me tell you something.
There is a HUGE difference between being TOLERATED and BEING LIKED.
I am sure you have the intelligence to see the difference.
You can "tolerate" someone you don't like, but you can not "welcome" someone whom you don't like. I for one, donlt want to be in the "tolerated" category.
And may I ask, what exactly is your definition of hostility? Being chased down the street by a bunch of thugs, who think you should be in their country, or the kind of passive hostility being practised as of now?

Quite honestly, if that is how you feel - perhaps you'd need to reconsider relocating to your home nation. I'm Indian, who grew up in the Middle East. I've lived in the United States for 6 years. I've always felt quite welcome and accepted in every way possible. I believe I've been treated fairly and have had the opportunity to live with Americans and contribute in positive ways. I continue to live here, primarily based on these sentiments. I'd never live here if I felt the way you do now.

I think IV should lobby to have the DREAM Act applied to all children, whether legal or illegal.

I am a legal skilled immigrant, came her in 1995 and still in line for GC. My son aged-out 3 years ago, and daughter will age-out in a month. Both of them would be on path to GC and citizenship under the DREAM Act....only if they had come here as undocumented. The DREAM Act allows the benefit till age 30, whereas legal dependants age-out at 21. Why this discrimination against legal entrants?

Agree with you ... They say things like kids should not suffer for actions of their parents .. Why the same logic is not applied for legal kids.

If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.

IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.

Actually it is like the "Gareebi Hatao" (translation: Remove Poverty) slogan for the Democratic party. Something to be used in certain districts for election only.
Just like Gay Marriage issue for Republican party.
In fact Rahm Emanuel (key strategist of the democratic party and one of the people credited for the success of the Democratic party in the election) said immigration
is the third rail of American politics.

It is the independent voters that decide a election, not the core democratic(ultra liberal) or core republican(ultra right wing) supporters. Passing an CIR will piss off
a significant portion of these independents and will create a swing against the Democratic party. A very small swing can create devastating losses in the swing
    states.

The immigration issues is in a factor in the 1st generation Hispanic community whose parents are illegals.

Even the younger generation wants illegal immigration control.

The 111th Congress begins its lame duck session on November 15th. The major item on the agenda will be what to do with President Bushs tax cuts which are set to expire on December 31, 2010. This election was a major boost to the Republicans and it will affect the tone of this session. There are two immigration items on the agenda. Just before the election, Sen. Menendez promised that he would bring Comprehensive Immigration Reform to the floor during this session, and Sen. Reid made a firm promise of a floor vote on DREAM. Sen. Reid won a convincing victory over his rival due to the staunch support of Latino voters in Nevada. Many activists for DREAM worked hard for Sen. Reids campaign helping him cinch his victory. We urge Majority Leader Reid to keep his promise for a floor vote for DREAM during the upcoming session. The country is watching to see if the two Democratic Senators will keep their promises.

    NO CIR
    Maybe Dream Act
Anything for us in the lame duck session?

Taking up the DREAM Act issue will strengthen the IV cause...by showing how legals are getting short-changed from every angle on the entire immigration issue.

It requires a very small change in the DREAM Act as contained in CIR. Just remove the clause that says it will apply to Z visa holders. In any case, Z visa no longer exists since CIR failed. But I am afraid the will replace it by some condition requiring undocumented presence. Remaining conditions apply to legals as well:

    (from the failed CIR)

Have maintained continuous physical presence in the U.S. since 1/1/07
Was under 30 years of age on date of enactment
Was under age 16 at time of initial entry into U.S.
Have obtained U.S. high school diploma or GED
Have not been absent from the U.S. for more than 365 total days during period of conditional residence (except those absent due to U.S. military service)
Have acquired a degree from a U.S. higher ed institution; or completed 2 years in Bachelors degree program or higher at such an institution; or have served at least 2 years in the U.S. military
Has provided a list of all of the secondary educational institutions he or she has attended in the U.S

If the push is for amendment to include legal kids , I would be more than happy to support any effort. I can only offer tepid support if it is exclusively for kids of undocumented people. Both kind of kids are here because of their parents' actions.

Agree with you on the point that any request for amendments to include documented kids should increase the visibility for IV ..

Every employment based immigrant who aspires to settle here in US to realize their American dream for their kids better future like the way you think.. if America doesn't welcome him, he will look for competitive job in some other country where he is welcomed or he will go back to his own mother country... if you don't promote the insource of worlds best talent in to US economy...that job will be outsourced for sure in couple of years...young talents on the other side of the planet are working like rocket scientists with innovative engineering brain to keep their economies rising to reach number one position in the world...if you observe the salaries these days in India and china..they are on par with US jobs and more in some companies..there will be no stand to mentality of the people once they struggle for their existence with the job and other issues in the life...it goes with money mostly......if you think on the other side like if govt welcomes those same young talents who can create jobs and can help US economy to continue its journey with out putting per country limit for in sourcing the talent..

If Indian bureaucracy is improved, corruption is drastically reduced and transparency is increased, India is the best place. But will this happen with this corrupt minded, useless and nasty politicians?

A hearing today illustrates why tech groups are blocked on this issue

June 12, 2008 (Computerworld) WASHINGTON -- When U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) led a U.S. House hearing today on bills that would make it easier for highly educated foreign tech workers to stay in the U.S., she had almost everything she needed to make her case. Underscore the word almost.

At the hearing, Lofgren's legislative effort was backed by the leading professional engineering group, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (IEEE-USA); the Semiconductor Industry Association; and an academic group, the Association of International Educators.

What Lofgren didn't have was the support of everyone on her Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees, Border Security and International Law.

"I think we should give the high-tech industry the innovators they need," said fellow committee member Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.). But what do lawmakers tell foreign workers who labor on farms and apply pesticides -- that "you're not really smart?"

Gutierrez called farm workers "just as critical and relevant to the innovation of that industry" as tech workers are to IT innovation. And he urged the committee to take a "holistic approach" to immigration so that the most vulnerable "are not stigmatized by actions of the Congress."

Gutierrez' argument encapsulated why efforts to raise the caps on H-1B visas and green cards face a difficult time in Congress. Last year's failed attempt at immigration reform has turned the issue into an all-or-nothing fight for many lawmakers, which has so far stymied efforts by tech groups to win support for expanding the H-1B cap. The outlook for Lofgren's effort is uncertain at best.
She recently introduced three bills intended to make it easier for U.S. firms to hire graduates of U.S. universities who earn a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. One bill, HR 6039, would exclude these graduates from the annual 140,000 limit on skills-based employment visas. A companion bill was introduced earlier this month in the Senate by Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Judd Gregg (R-N.H.).

In response to Gutierrez' argument, Edward Sweeney, who chairs the Semiconductor Industry Association's Semiconductor Workforce Strategy Committee and is vice president of worldwide human resources at National Semiconductor Corp., said his industry is dealing right now with the loss of "job creating talent."

Every day, said Sweeney, foreign graduates are returning home, where they create jobs "to compete against us." Gutierrez countered by describing the threat of deportation or the risk of jail facing an undocumented worker in a meatpacking plant.

Stating the case for the IEEE was Lee Colby, an electrical engineer and 36-year employee of Hewlett-Packard Co. who now runs his own circuit design consulting company. "At this point, it's difficult to get enough engineers in the United States to staff our research and development labs," said Colby, calling that situation "somewhat pitiful."

He continued: "We definitely need talent from overseas to correct this situation."

The only person on the panel called to testify in opposition was Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, who argued that highly skilled workers are not really that highly skilled.

"Contrary to the claims of the lobbyists, these workers aren't necessarily the best and brightest," said Krikorian, citing a study by Norman Matloff, a computer science professor at the University of California at Davis.

But Sweeney said the semiconductor industry applies for up to 4,000 green card workers a year and he said those workers, many with masters degrees and above, "are crucial" to product research. "They are making north of $100,000 a year," he said.

Did you visit any country that might have triggered this?
I worked in Kuwait and visited Bahrain, Dubai. Does any of the countries were in that list.

    No

    NRK,

Did you visit any country that might have triggered this?

Have you ever faced any issues with your last name being on no fly list?

You have pretty much answered no to most of the questions asked by other posters. If the answers to the above questions are no too, then it must be USCIS error.

Pappu, automotive insurance is another area of concern. U.S. insurance companies navel gaze when it comes to prior coverage or driving record. I am a Canadian citizen who had insurance with a Canadian affiliate of an American country. Well it turns out the insurance companies phones can't penetrate the border.

Despite all my clean years of driving (no moving violations, no DUI's, no accidents and no claims) I still had the luxury of paying premium prices in my new found country for the first couple of years.
