So lets do the numbers. If 10,000 of us buy houses worth $300K.
Lets say, each make 20% downpayment.
10,000 * $ 60,000 = $ 600 Million (right away gets pumped into the market)
each pays mortgate of $2000 per month which makes by next year this time
10, 000 * $2000 * 12 = $240 Million.
So which this plan, for 1 year, we are helping the economy by $ 840 Million.
Hmm, Is that number sufficient enough for Berneke to even think about our plan?

Thanks Almond... your post summarizes exactly how ppl in my position feel. one of my frds did MBA from top 20 B-school but could not change to a new job in management career becoz his I-140 approved but did not file for I-485 yet and worse yet he crossed 6 year H1b. now he is also living on 3 year h-1b extensions with approved I-140. when he was venting his frustration like me, one a$$hole (GC holder) suggested he move back to his home country. funny thing was this a$$hole got her GC becoz she married some bakra who already applied for GC. within 6 months after she arrived in US, her huby got them GCs. This dumb wothless piece of $hit doesnt know how hard (impossible ?) to get GC in this lifetime becoz she got it in 6 months  .
Yeah, and that's another thing. There are a lot of insensitive people out there who don't really know the meaning of sympathy and who think out of their butts. That is why when you feel like venting out you need to really select people that are more compassionate. No one expects a pity party, but at the same time no one should trivialize something as serious as this or give "advice" that is idiotic and that even they, had they been in this situation, would not do. I feel terrible for your friend because he has such education and is stuck like this. It feels like you're wasting the best years of your life just waiting. There is nothing that I or anyone can tell you or your friend to make you feel better but please listen to me and learn from my mistake, and tell your friend, too: DON'T WASTE THIS TIME. If you need to volunteer somewhere to use skills that you have that you are not allowed to use on your present job, DO IT. Or if you can take classes to learn new skills, DO IT. Find a way to be more than what you are now so that when this is over you are not just "floridasun, man stuck in the same job for 10 years" When you finally get out of this hell hole and someone looks at your resume and says, what, you did this for how long!? Then you can say, well I had a special situation, however, sir, look at these other things I have done.

Dear friend, Please dont make fun of him. he is asking a genuine questions, if you can answer then answer otherwise just keep quite. I can understand his pain, where so many new kids qualify for EB2 without any experience this gentleman is looking for MS degree to prove his 17 years of experience for EB2.
Thanks

But is it legal for them to post it in its entirety before DOS does?
Did someone try to call the number listed in the bulletin as it says that the cut-off dates are available on the phone too. I tried that and it is still saying Aug bulletin.

Applied for EAD extension on July 18-2008 (expiring on Sep, 2008), less than 90 days. Today (Aug 15, 2008) received an email saying "Current Status: Card production ordered." for self and wife. No idea whether it is 1 year or 2 year extension. APs are still spending.

Dear friends,
We are in immediate need of funds for that very purpose. We are seriously low on gas right now, for the journey ahead that we are only just starting on. We have only raised $30,000 in the last 50 days; even more alarming, fund raising has gone down drastically in the last 2 weeks. At our current burn rate, we will be out of money in a month or so, just when we expect the bills to come up for discussion on the Senate floors. As you can expect and appreciate, there is a cost for achieving anything politically. IV has already demonstrated a great deal of leadership and persistence to work on retrogression relief and labor backlog elimination. Many IV members will start making trips to DC in the coming weeks to meet lawmakers at the hill. We need your help NOW!
Members that have not yet contribute money, please do so TODAY! And members that have already contributed please consider another contribution. We need all hands on deck. Also pass on the message of the immediate need of funds to your friends.
If you have questions, as always, please send a note to info@immigrationvoice.org
This is my third post regarding this topic. I have made my contibution and urged all my friends to do the same. [B]Can we sell some add space[B]. If we can have more broad immigartion related topics like proceesing times, more people visit and we can probably sell some add space

Hi
I am applying for AP (new). Are they issued with 1 year validity or 2 years ( now that EAD is being given for 2 years)?
AP's are still being given with 1 year validity I think. Only EAD's with 2 year validity will start from July 1st onwards.

Skilled, Legal Immigrants Tangled in Illegal Immigration Mess
The debate over what to do about the millions of illegal immigrants in this country has occupied much of the public mind share over the past year, including press coverage, demonstrations, and debate and legislation at all levels of government. Drowned out by all the noise over illegal immigration is an issue of critical importance to American industry and tens of thousands of hopeful would-be citizens: the legal immigration system for skilled workers is badly broken and in need of an overhaul.
Of the on-average 850,000 green cards doled out annually over the past decade, approximately 16% (140,000 / yr), are allocated to so-called skilled workers - nurses, engineers, medical researchers, and a variety of other professionals. They have at least a bachelors degree, typically in a technical discipline, and many have masters degrees or doctorates and significant experience in their fields. These workers pay taxes and health insurance, are educated and law-abiding, and they contribute to their communities. Most importantly, they help drive economic growth by supplying critical skills to US industry in an increasingly competitive global market.
Contrary to what some alarmists will have you believe, these workers are not stealing American jobs. They are brought to the US by American-owned companies who cant find sufficiently skilled US workers. The US Department of Labor (USDOL) requires the employer to prove that there are no suitably qualified US workers available before allowing the foreign worker to be hired. Skilled green card applicants are also not cheap labor. The employer is required by law to pay at least as much as they would pay a comparably qualified US worker. This wage is established by survey and audited by USDOL. Anti-immigration rhetoric simply does not hold up to scrutiny when compared with realities of the legal immigration process.
The green card process for skilled workers has traditionally taken 18-24 months. However, many current applicants are facing waits of 5 years or more due to bureaucratic bottlenecks at the Department of Labor, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, and even the FBI. Recent attempts to fix the legal green card process have become mired in politics over what to do about illegal immigrants. For example, a number of measures that would have helped US corporations sponsor legal green card applicants were included in the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (CIRA) of 2006. However, after passing in the Senate last year, this bill ground to a halt in the House because it provided a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, a measure strongly opposed by many US Representatives.
Legal green card applicants are hopeful that Comprehensive Immigration Reform will be re-visited in 2007 and get a much warmer reception now that the US House of Representatives is controlled by the Democrats. Measures in the bill introduced last year would help to restore the green card process back to traditional 18-24 month wait times, allowing immigrants to get on with their lives and integrate fully with the US workforce in a timely fashion. Highly skilled, legal workers are good for the economy, good for our communities, and good for American industry in an increasingly competitive global economy. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill deserves the support of the American people in 2007.

Same with me too. My application was moved from NSC to TSC and has been lying there since then. Hasn't been assigned to an officer yet:mad:
I never had any RFE, but my case has been bounced around for no reason. From TSC->CSC->TSC and I am told that it is not even pre-adjudicated not even assigned to any officer as yet. I have yet to see any more illogical organization other than USCIS.

makes sense...they are expecting alot of 140/485 combine filings in July and by issuing this bulletin they have stopped people from filing 140 in PP
When I saw the huge movement in June followed by the July bulletin, I'd thought to myself - it's a question of time before they suspend/terminate the 140 PP. The PP demand would come not from people who are filing 140/485 together (because that would be only people who just got the LCs) but rather people who had already applied 140 but not 485, or those who 140 is pending but 485 got current.
This change could at least benefit those who have a "normal" 140 in the pipeline, but that's doubtful because I'm sure these resources would get sucked into the tsunami of 485s in July.
The fact that it says they'll reconsider this after Aug 1 suggests that they do not anticipate too may 485 filings in Aug => chances of retrogression in Aug bulletin is now higher, if it does not retrogress mid-month!

Dear friends,
As many of you are well aware, it has been about 50 days since IV was started. Since then, we have come a long way in setting up a platform to voice our concerns. We also established an able alliance with QGA to have a powerful channel for our voices to be heard on the hill.
It is now game time!!
Two very significant legislative vehicles, namely the PACE bill and Comprehensive immigration bill are right on the corner. PACE is scheduled for discussion end of Feb, and the comprehensive Immigration bill beginning of March. In this dynamic legislative climate, it if very difficult to predict which of these potential vehicles could bear fruit, or even predict the timeframes accurately. IVs strategy is to pursue both the bills and push for our goals to be on them.
1) AC21 is used for H1B Transfer AND
2) AC21 is use for EAD (485 phase) Job change
This bill is addressing number 1 above NOT number 2. The above scenarios reflect the current system not the future merit based or whatever else. I am assuming a case where an applicant continues under the old system.
If anyone disagrees please substantiate.
