If you like your current insurance and it has satisfactory service...you should just continue with same for that gap.

I will be taking up a new job and I have been told by the new employer that, benifits will start after 30 days.
I presently have insurence through my employer. My understnading is that, insurence stops the day I leave the present employer. Now how do i handle the stop gap in insurence to be on safer side...??
Any help is appreciated...

You got that right! I have been trying to keep up with these changes myself and found it very interesting that these 3 countries all made these sweeping changes all within a few days of time!

He was working at Lehman before the company filed for chapter 11
... He has been told that salary will be paid for 3 months
Right now he is at home and looking for other offers and no H1b transfer has been started
Question is ... Is he OK ( in status ) currently or a H1b transfer has to be done ASAP

one couple husband on H1b(7th year i think) and wife is using EAD to work.They went India for vacation and while coming back the officer there asked the guy that
Being a primary applicant of green card you are on H1b,then how would your wife use EAD instead of being on H4?
So,the guy also changed to EAD.
But ofcourse this might not be the case with everyone.

That is exactly what we want the house members to know. Our lives are on hold; my wife cannot work, and I cannot move!
Also, a BIG THANK YOU for distancing ourselves from the H1B quota issue that the industry is after. That will get us nowhere in the house that struck it down last time from their bill.

President Obama recently mentioned plans for holding a White House meeting to discuss proceeding with immigration reform legislation. 1. Company A wants me to goto EAD and not do H renewal. Company B is doing H transfer now. Say H transfer notice comes through in 2 months from now and i keep working for Company A (using EAD) untill 2nd Jan. In this time Company B will hold my H visa but i wont be joining them untill 2nd Jan. Thus i will work for company A from now to 2nd Jan on EAD and then switch to company B on H visa. Is this possible ?
2. i did'nt realize that i cant pay for H renewal.

I know this question has been asked in past so many time but I could not find. I have H1b stamp valid till Nov 1st 2008. I got my h1b ext approved till2011. I was not planing to go india this year but because of emergecny I may have to travel with in week. I will be there for 10 days only. worst case Oct 11th 2008. I am with same employer whom I was before ext. Should I go for renewal of stamp in india ? I know PIMS may hold me there for a long time.
Can I travel if visa is going to expire in 2 weeks. but having ext approved ?
Can i eligible for emergency appointment worst case ?
What if they put me on hold under PIMS ? will they hold passport ? or I can travel with old valid visa ?
Please reply urgent . My law firm has not answered my email yet and I may have to buy ticket and fly this weekend..

I came back to US on Mar 30 2008 using advance parole. The officer wrote on I-94 , paroled until Mar 29, 2008 (I am assuming its an oversight).
I didnt detect the oversight till yesterday. What my current status and what actions should I take to rectify the error.
I am still working for my employer that sponsored the H1B which is valid till Feb 2009, although the stamp on the passport was valid only till Feb 2008

Well my employer applied for 140 on "some secret date", that he will not tell us :). So I don't know when he filed. I was under impression that he filed long time back almost a year back and it is approved. Suddenly, I received RFE at my home mail (I was surprised as well my employer..that how it arrived to my address) and I found that my I140 is in limbo state. But blessing in disguise was that now I have my I140 number and A# and I can track it online.
I don't know when exactly he filed my labor too. He just gave me one page to sign on labor. so I don't know any details of that too.

just got my Labor approved a couple week ago and now i want to file I-140 premium processing. But my lawyer's not allow me to do that coz once my I-140 approve i can't file my 8 th year extension. My 7th years H1B will expire on Aug 30, 2007.
I'm very confused now, on my understanding once i get my I-140 approve, i'm eligible to get my H1B 3 years extension.
FYI: i chose CP opotion, is that make me not eligible to get my H1B extension once my I-140 approve?

may i make a sincere suggestion. Please, go back to school, take a course in english grammar, writing mechanisms and reading comprehension. People can better respond to you, when they understand whatever is it you are asking. You may also be able to file as a qualified eb2 applicant. No pun intended.
