Small query. If I am in my sixth year of H1B today, and if I file for H1 extension,
1. with same employer, I actually got 3 years extension. (being 140 approved)
2. with diff. employer, would I get 3 years or just six months, or not at all?
With different employer, you can get 3 years as well, if the new employer has filed for a new PERM and you have received an approved I-140.

How many core IV members have already received their GCs besides Aman, just curious?
Of late is there anything of note even happening on the lobbying front? IV seems to have become another Immigration Portal kinda website where people are now posting all sorts of info, some of it not even immigration related.
It would be nice if someone in the core team updated the rest of us, who cannot join the state chapters due to personal reasons on the website.

that is logical, but I am asking if I transfer now, which will be a simple H1B transfer - would I get only 6 months.
I actually received 3 years extension 2 weeks back with same employer, but considering another offer.

I think it should have minimal or no impact on your GC process. Somehow you can get gc. But what is the impact of case in your personal life that is more important. If you have an asset or money those are under risk. But if you have very less savings what they are going to achive by sueing you. Also did you have Insurance? Then they might put you and your Insurance company in lawsuit. Then your Insurance company may fight for you. If they win the case and court ask you to pay 1 million dollars then you can file bankruptsy protection and come out if you have very less money. Fighting is always better option than giving up. But again it is individual's decision. As you have option of going to India. But no such option for Americans

Your idea is good...But only people who will participate in this will be those who have already made the calls..
I don't think that those who couldn't spare 10 mins of day to make a call themselves will ask their friends or family members to call house members... And if they start calling by themselves... You and me won't be posting this message for taking help with Friends and Family... We have more than 30,000 members and time and again i reiterate that there must be more than 200 unique visitors for this thread.. SO PLEASE PLEASE>.. I urge all of you to do your part ...No one else have to post this message and ask you for support , if you call.

I have a great JOB offer but hesitating to invoke AC21(moving using H1-B/EAD) because these days there are many 485 DENIALS( the moment I1-40 is REVOKED). And NOTHING is guaranteed even if we send the AC21 documents to USCIS. And the EAD automatically gets invalid anyways when the 485 is denied.
Doing some research to find out if H1-B extension beyond 6th year is valid if 485 - gets DENIED? (Example: If I get a 3 year H1-B extension based on my current I-140 approval)?
Also not sure if it applies in my case as I still have 10-11 months of H1-B remaining and if I decide to take up this oppurtunity in the next couple of months and 485 gets DENIED after that. May be I will have enough time to file MTR? I should be fine. But what if 485 gets DENIED after I complete 6 years?
Please provide genuine answers.
These answers will BENEFIT many people.

I have talked to IMG sales rep, he said they won't cover for pre existing conditions. He also said that as far as his knowledge is concerned there is no company out there that covers pre existing conditions when I asked him about it.
My final assumption is that any insurance we buy anywhere, just covers illnesses that are developed after the coverage starts.
Any corrections??

Yes - I am not bothered. These laws are a joke. Guess, we must just laugh at them.
From what it looks like - they want to appease the PG, Numbersusa etc.. kinda groups.

Thanks for the numbers. Are these numbers including Depdent also or only Primary applicatnt. Also, they are only 485-Pending cases or I-140 approved also included.

Can anyone provide some useful insight based on personal experienceas to how valuable is Part Time MBA for oppurtunities in India?
I am IT professional with lot of experience and currently pursuing Part time MBA from a business school which is ranked in top 25 and not in top 10.
The way I see it that it will take me around 4 years to complete it and I have to invest atleast $30,000 even if I get employer to pay a part of it.
In the end if it fetches me a top notch management position it will be well worth it. However I see limited chances of getting into management positions in US just based on MBA degree however I am not sure about India.
Any thoughts?

ICICI can not predict rather no one can predict what will be the exchange rate tomorrow. The minimum forex transaction at dealer level is for $1 mil. So, they can't promise you some rate the moment you hit the submit button. They will pool all the transactions like yours and then do a big contract together. ICICI provides lot of other services which SBI will not in terms of convenience. And ICICI deals big time in forex transactions. In this market the guy with biggest transactions will have lowest cost and depending on competition will have incentive to pass it on to you as an end user. They might time it within a particular time frame but that is something unavoidable.
Why cannot they just say it?. Why can�t they say that it will take 2 days to 22 days or 222 days to transfer the amount?, if someone needs to send money due to an emergency, they do it thinking that the money will be transferred in two or three days, a week maybe�

Yes! on IV you are supposed to say only good things about IV (though IV is "grass-root" non-profit) but no free speech here :confused:
You are only supposed to smell and sense good things about IV and hence write only good ... but god-forbid if you write truth then IV-watchers will try to ruin your "image" by giving RED dots (IV-mileage points) and make you feel bad-guy :rolleyes:

How about the following:
Some IO was just playing around at MySQL database prompt. Just browsing without modifying any data... but it was recorded as LUD.
They were training new IO's and showing them some old applications as examples. And it registered as fresh LUD's.
They were performing data-mining/archiving on some old apps...I say, unless and until you receive a letter from them, just chill and get back to worrying about retrogression :-)
