I am in the same boat and need to get my address updated. So what I understand from above posts is that there is no need to do paper based AR11 and can just do it online for I-485, EAD as well as AP, right?? Once done, just keep printouts for records , thats it???

If you see the instruction of form I-131, it clearly says AP is an exdraodinary measure and should be sparingly used, for emergency purpose (page 1). AP can not be used to by pass the visa or visa issuance process. It clearly says that if AP is based on pending I-485, then the travel should be for family emergency and bonafide business purpose (page 3).
As because, USCIS/CBP is flexible for AP admission it does not mean that the rules are flexible. If the CBP agents at POE wants to flex their muscles they can deny the admission of AP holder, if they found the travel was not an emergency or a bonafide bussiness travel.

Hi everyone, If you have a H1B visa in your passport valid until Sep. 30 of 2009, but had quit from your old job in Nov. 2008 and are currently out of USA. Is it still possible to transfer your H1B to another employer and return back to USA on the old visa?

USCIS has updated the processing dates pages of all the four service centers on September 28. Now the pages say that these dates are valid as of July 31, 2008 only.
If I remember well the processing dates information was more up-to-date earlier.
So looks like CIS has backtracked from their earlier published dates. They are telling us that they simply cannot tell what the current processing dates are. All they can tell us is that what applications they were processing on July 31.
What can we deduce from this? Is it good? Is it bad? Or no relevance?
It could be good as CIS might be processing July 2007 485 applications as of today? Or may be not.
Simply more confusion, as if as it is we were not confused enough.

and I know that each year only 140000 green card is allocated for EB category.
I have several question regarding this number/quota:
1. Does that number (140000) include the spouse/all dependents of applicant ? or just the main applicant ?
2. I keep hearing of this 7% cap for each country, what does that mean ?
does that mean each country only have maximum of 9800 (7% * 140000) green card each year ?? or is it depend on the number of citizen of the country (for example citizen in India is bigger than Japan, so India will get bigger quota)

I have been given Form 221(g) after my interview and asked for some documents to be delivered. To my astonishment, my petitioner has denied to send me those documents as they say that they don't have those.

I think you can get the extension with new company too. While applying for the transfer request extension upto Feb 2010. You might have to provide the I140 approval again to prove that you are eligible for 3-year extension.
I think you can join the company immediately. To be in safe side you can apply for transfer in premium.
As you might be aware there is no such thing as H1B transfer - every h1b application is a new one for that company and you as beneficeiry. So when applying for H1B with new company - you have to provide evidence that you are eligible for the H1B. The evidence is to show you are already on H1B (so that you are not subject to annual cap); and that you have enough time on H1B if you already completed 6 years then evidence to prove that you are eligible for further extension of h1b. I dont think there is any need to apply for amendment in premium processing as long as you file the amendment before your current I-94 expires (which in your case is the date of EAD expiry).....I would suggest you to check with some other lawyer too regarding this because $1000 is not a small amount....
