Just curious. Why do you claim ROW is receiving preferential treatment over India when all the countries get the same upper limit of the visas. Now if the Indians ask for more visas just because there are more Indians asking for green cards, wouldn't that be preferential treatment? :)
Quota system treats everybody anything but "equal". And this is not just the question of equality, because I am sure you agree that we are equals. It is the question of PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT. You are in the category getting preferential treatment, so you oppose any change, you "create" arguements that you were "promised" a system when you came, and thus any change to the system, before you get your green card would be WRONG and UNFAIR. So you should continue to get that PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT. And PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT to you is NOT WRONG AND UNFAIR. Right?

I am in same boat as you.
2 i-140's approved with same company, both are EB2, one is RIR one is PERM.
PERM one had Jan 2006 PD where my RIR had Nov 2004.
I-485 was applied using Nov 2004. USCIS may be looking at other one and thinking PD is not current. What a mess.

Thanks man for your replies. I'm gathering as much as I can. All the tickets, birth certs.
Plus, to add to the complication, I've also confirmed ticket to meet them at Frankfurt on their way to US. My Euro vacation for a week would collapse and have to cancel everything.
I'm try to keep myself sane. There are much worse situations people are facing in this forum ( for example, a ninth pregnant lady getting laid off).
Just hoping (and praying) that this can be solved smoothly.

Your comment reminded me of something I had penned down right after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visit to the US. It was very depressing.
A White Collar Slave
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh�s visit to the White House was well reported in the media and the Presidents acknowledgement of the contributions made by the people of India- Indian American�s was most gracious. He also made a point to acknowledge the contributions made by Indian students to America�s Universities. All this is most heart-warming. However, as a legal non-permanent resident awaiting labor certification (or the ability to work) since the past 3 years I feel bound by invisible chains whose cold steel refuses to be warmed. The labor certification process is technically supposed to take 12 months.
Post 9-11, grinding to a near halt the labor certification process of permanent residency applicants is a �win-win� opportunity for the government. Get these highly skilled laborers on a short-term lease of an H1B. Pass off the bureaucracy and red tape of the INS on the process of Homeland security. The latest breakdown, the INS information technology system has been down for 6 weeks now. When asked questions about a status of the system, they donot respond
HIB visa holders make money in dollars that certainly affords them a higher income than would have been possible in their own country. I donot want to undervalue this benefit. But, the American government and citizens hugely profit from the brief stay of these H1B�s in America. H1B�s make money, 99% of which is placed in American banks, which enables banks to fund American projects of citizens and noncitizens. They buy American stock, pay into a social security system and a pension fund that the may not have access to when they themselves are seniors- after all the H1B is only for 6 years. Besides the obvious monetary contributions, they contribute culturally, linguistically and through charity to American society
While they are contributing in as many ways to the American society. Their own lives are in limbo. Frankly, after mumbai attack I have been a different person. I come to this forum to learn and provide any information I can provide. But it bothers me to see few jerks like mirage who don't have any clue of how things work, and they just start posting on the forum "remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits, remove country limits" 30 times a day, as if that will be sufficient to remove country limits. And in more ways this uneducated style bothers me. I will try to ignore it and go my way.

To me; it looks like it could be a shift in change of policy. In the denial notice; it is the same officer number who sent the notice of intent to deny. Therefore; it is not a training issue; looks like something else is happening.

Secondly, the USCIS does not care what we say to them, they are going to take exactly how much time they want to take to process our Green cards. All I was suggesting was, we ask for interim relief. Now like Logiclife mentioned we are trying for smaller bits of interim relief and that is a reasonable answer. However please do not make remarks like "this person is here to make money and is not after GC". Are we not all after making money? Is that not why we want GCs? We certainly dont want the GC to frame it and keep it next to our other trophies do we? Then why are people accusing me of wanting to "make money"? The problem with some people on this forum is the lack of respect for an alternate view. It is one thing to disagree and it is another to make ridiculous off topic remarks about what someone said.

Lets keep this thread to celebrate OP's Green Card and some inspiration for Hopeless EB-3 guys.
Krish: I agreed VISA recpature and not including dependents will help us a lot, but looking at the current political divisiveness and people focusing more on 2012 election cycle and the campaigning, noone going to touch this HOT POtato of legislative reforms for Legal immigration. Now considering wait until the formation of 113th US congress it is about 20 months time, so do u expect People who are qualified and getting an opportunity to get out of EB-3 mess should wait that long? People already waiting since 2002/2003 PDs and no sign of any legal relief from USCIS/DoS for this hopeless EB-3 india people. Once agian legit porting is the way out to come out of EB-3 india mess, their is no other solution for us. When you compare all retroigress classes EB-3 india is the worst, we are still in April 2002 as compared to other EB-3 categories which are now in July 2005 range. (china is exception to this they are way better than us to somewhere 2004 range). Please dont bring in this issue in this celebration thread, let people cheer something, we already had so many useless threads and verbal arguments on this subject.

We are June 15th, 2007 filers. We got our APs and EADs. There have been no more updates on mine or my spouse's 485 applications. But our son's 485 application had a LUD in September and again a couple of days ago. Does that by any chance mean that our son's NC is cleared and our's is stuck ?

Such events cost money. If we have enough contributions, we can spend as per our budget of nearly $ 50,000. If not, we will have to cut back on the event spending and reduce the magnitude and size of the event.
If you are not coming to DC next week, please do your part and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. It not only finances the event properly, it instills pride and confidence in the members who will be there in DC that there are thousands of willing supporters behind them who could not be there physically but are 100% with them in their determination and resolve.
