True greatness is shown by humility, not pride.
Al Gore, Kalam, etc are great personalities.
SRK nah!!
Thousands of South Asians have gone through same treatment.
Growup SRK, don't be such a baby :D.
I have never watched his movies, and i got one more reason not to watch "My name is Khan".

Well then what are you doing here in USA? Why you are not in Canada, Australia or wherever the f@@k you think is good and better than USA?
As I mentioned, I love it in the States. But to love the States is not to say other places are not also very good. And when weighing your options between perpetual immigration and settling somewhere else, there might be value in considering other options. Which by the way, is the point of the this thread. Perhaps nuance is lost on someone of your obvious genius.
Also, I was quoting from a set of facts related to The Economists quality of life Indexes. Helping to inform people. In addition to that, I've lived many, many years in all 3 countries.
You on the other hand, contributed exactly what to the conversation?
I hope you recall your message to me next time you complain about the US immigration system and they say "So? If you hate it so much, why don't you F@@K off back to where you came from?"

Absolutely. To amway guys:- No means NO/NOT INTERESTED.. PERIOD.. I don't care whether you were flipping burgers or dream to become a millionaire. Do it yourself . Just don't harass people. Next time you will be arrested if you harass people.
Kushal,
This whole conversation was not intended to be personal and if it hurt you in any way then we all apologize ,most of the people here might be in or against amway/quixter but they are all more pissed of by the way they are harassed by so called IBO's with the way they treat their prospective clients.
Why not just move on if somebody says no or gives a excuse to the IBO's, if anybody does
really feel interested they will ultimately come back to you guys but why harass them with multiple calls and personal visits.
Note - I would be intersted to see your tax returns :-) email me please since you agreed to.

If you see the entire post, you will see that the agenda is
1) Increasing GC numbers
2) Recapturing numbers and instituting permanent Rollover mechanisms
3) Eliminate country quotas
Part 1 and 2 would help everyone from around the world. While 3 would benefit citizens of a few countries more than others, all it is saying is STOP discriminating in employment based green cards on basis of country of origin. You are not BORN with skills and neither does being born in country A make you more SKILLED than being born in country B.
If you want to see 3 as being the reason to not participate, that you are implicitly condoning discrimination against people born in certain country even though you will benefit equally from 1 and 2.
Are you suggesting that IV's efforts would increase the wait times for ROW?
What incentive does ROW have to work with IV then?

Immigration Voice encourages all members to help AILF/AILA's potential lawsuit by joining them as plaintiffs and contribute funds to Immigration Voice. We will actively help AILF or other organizations in this lawsuit to force USCIS/DOS to compensate for :
1. Financial and other damages caused due to manipulation of Visa bulletins out of order.
2. Violation of federal regulations and precedents.
A victory in such a potential lawsuit could in effect may either force USCIS to accept the 485 petitions in July and accept the ones it may deny/return in July.
The outcome of lawsuit cannot be guaranteed but USCIS and DOS are certainly facing a tough fight from us as well as from AILA and like minded organizations.
Please contribute funds as Immigration Voice would need funds to finance an expensive lawsuit against USCIS/DOS should it decide to actively participate in a class action lawsuit.

In that AILA reference of EB3 others for june... DOS asked USCIS that visas are exhausted..it wasnt USCIS directly jumping to conclusions.
my 2 cents..
Today, he emailed by HR directly and told them that "we will file everyone's 485 in first week of July ".
He also said that there is no need to panic because AILA is already threatening USCIS with lawsuit and right now its in negotiations state. (Whatever). He said that the thread from AILA will prevent USCIS from doing the same mischief again in July 2007 to EB2, and EB3 categories. (Somehow I dont buy that, I dont think USCIS is afraid of anyone and they are acting like and independent body ... like the Supreme court working on its own schedule and own whims).
So the thing is...he acknowledges what happened with EB3-other category in June and says that he will file in July first week (good for me and my other co-workers) but he is still sticking to his guns that "It wont happen because USCIS will be scared of AILA".
What USCIS has done for EB3-other worker category is violation of federal regulation and it cannot just ignore the visa bulletins because it feels like doing so and its having a bad day. But nonetheless, the people who make these decisions dont get sued. The agency gets sued, and those lawsuits are fought by internal lawyers who are on USCIS payroll. They get some heat for violating the federal regulation but its not like they would lose their shirt over it.

For all those who are stating that filing in EB1 should not matter, please withdraw your application and let other people in line move ahead. Give me 1 simple reason, why should we not raise this issue. In hindi, there s an old saying "boondh boond karge ghara bartha hain"....
I will request all of you to send letters to USCIS to raise this issue and lets have a close scrutiny of all EB1 applicants received/filed....I understand that this is not the solution but i am pi***** at people using loopholes all the time.....

This is great!!!
All my Indian friends who were fighting with me over the (1 or 2) unused EB-2 visas from ROW, well, you can have them my friends. I ain't getting any of them anyway.
Ha! Maybe this will be the penny that drops to make people realize that this isn't "just an Indian or Chinese thing"

We are all expecting that the VB will go back to June 2007 figure...it looks like that RoW has been so fast in getting the latest PD back which could come in a very few months time.
I was not expecting this to come too soon but in June 2008.
We are???? I am not expecting a C against all categories ever again! If anything can move the dates significantly, it is things like recapturing of unused visa numbers. Oh BTW, did you send your letter?

Can they stoop to such level?
I think they do. But again, it is my opinion. I have very bad opinion of these folks, because of my experience as a former IBO (15 days only) and a victim of torture by other IBOs.

Now to prove my point that we had all of today's similar issues then. Here is my after GC post.

I hope you people wouldn't simply jump to a conclusion that I was lucky. I went through all the travails of layoffs, GC backlogs etc.

macaca is trying to make the human element point.
others are trying make use of the scandal type issue (the way i have written it)
the main thing is to encourage the reporters to touch on this story. it does not matter what sort of publicity we get.... we need to keep pursuing this with all the energy we can muster.

Another prove of government misconduct is violation of regulations
In addition to the aspirational 180-day deadline in 8 U.S.C. 1571(b), the 8 C.F.R. 103.2(b)(18) sets forth a detailed timetable for “withholding adjudication of a visa petition or other application if . . . an investigation has been undertaken involving a matter relating to eligibility or the exercise of discretion . . . .”
I doubt these regulations were followed in thousands of delayed I-485s.
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=223449&postcount=3
We have also over a hundred WOM rulings were court acknowledged that the USCIS "unreasonably delayed" adjudication of applications. Moreover, the USCIS intentionally pushed people to go to court
http://bibdaily.com/pdfs/Mocanu%201-14-08.pdf
"For reasons stated at the hearing and in this Memorandum, I have reached a tentative conclusion that Defendant USCIS, overwhelmed by these applications, has adopted a strategy of favoring delay by litigation, instead of developing an orderly and transparent administrative resolution. Although this strategy is often evident in private party damages litigation, it is improper in these cases."

Sorry my number was wrong...
Its not 80,000 , it is 129,973.. That is also as of March 2007..
look at link http://www.shusterman.com/pdf/permstats407.pdf
8000 Indians (almost the complete 7% ANNUAL limit for I485) were PERM certified in the first quarter of fiscal 2007 (oct-dec 2006) itself! No wonder we have big backlogs for India...
An older stat, for the first year of PERM (march-05 to march-06):
http://www.murthy.com/news/n_relper.html
shows that 80K cases were filed, and of these 36K certified. Assuming of the 23K rejections 14K were appealed and then got through, that means only 50K PERM approvals in the whole year. As dates retrogress in the future, and slowly start moving again, they should hopefuly cross this march-2005 to march-2006 timeframe fairly fast... Some of these I140s would have gotten denied, some of these cases possibly abandoned (no substitution also now!), and some I485s would get caught in namechecks and what not..

Nixtor, this idea is worth trying. If people who are buyinh house can be exempted from the VB quota, this will free up extra visas and will help those people who will not buy a house.

Please post good reliable estimate of cost for applying with ALL possible break ups. I know the following only!
Cost of applying = application fee ($795 ??) + Lawyer fee + others (= medical + pictures + ...)
Also, which parts are lost if we have to re-apply!
