no i will call them on thursday as i will be busy till then......what did u mean by "photos coming out black when scanned by their scanner".....was there anything we are supposed to do to avoid that?....did u get any update on ur application?after how many days of receipt is it supposed to be in their system?

I got my USA GC.. i have canadian PR too... what to do ? i want to keep US GC one..

I have canadian PR as well, qualified for citizenship 2 yrs back, never opted for one
I would trash the PR, i mean let it expire and you be on your way. Cdn PR doesnt gives much benefits unless you want to settle in Canada/ work there.

I am quite confused. My date is June 2002 first week .
Not sure if it makes sense to Port to Eb2 , but big uknown is how long it would take PD to move up to June 2002.
It could take 2 years at the earliest, more like 3-4 years. Do not quote me- this is just a guesstimate. Nobody knows. Better to file EB2 and interfile 140 & 485 using EB3 pd.
The best thing to do is to get involved with IV State chapters and advocate for change.

I wouldn't pass such judgement on immigration-law.com. They've acknowledged the mistake. It's not like no one makes any mistakes, it's how they acknowledge and move forward.

Lawyers by profession hardly ever make statements, since their profession is to make sure what they state is 100% accurate. They are more like a news sensation organization, so please there is no need to defend them. But people like us that includes me want this thing to work so bad that we go to their website for our vested interest and to give us some hope. They are more like a blog than a legal web-site.

Spoke with Carl Shusterman today and he has requested a copy of my law suit. He his heading a meeting with AILA in two weeks and it appears wheels are in motion for bill/amendments to cspa to protect children who have already aged out!!!!!!!!!! so you may wish to keep checking out this thread http://expatsvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23 also subscribe to his news letter at www.shusterman.com
I am sure all of us who have found ourselves in this horrible situation will keep watching.
It is not before time that this piece of legislation got a review to close some of the gaping holes in it.
I am hoping in particular that those of us whose children aged out while our labor certification was languishing in the backlog centers get to join their families again.

"Also the EB queue needs to be considered while moving to the skill based one" - I don't know what you meant by this line but I am in no mood to restart my GC application (for which I have been waiting for the past 9 years) just because some genius (whoever that person was) woke up one morning and decided that all the applications need to be reformed into a points based system.
Of course we are all in the EB queues. I don't want to discuss details of any campaigns in the public forum. You could volunteer for this too and suggest your ideas to 'StarSun' and clear your doubts.

What USCIS did to the other worker category in June was clearly a violation of Federal regulation (8 CFR Section 245.1(g)) - however since the numbers were insignificant, the violation went unnoticed.
It goes without saying that AILA will file a federal law suit seeking immediate interim relief, if the USCIS does this again...
The repercussions of such a law suit will be worse for the USCIS and very good for the filers. If the judge grants interim relief, that will mean USCIS cannot close the doors until the law suit is settled...USCIS is probably already aware of this possible repercussion and will most certainly avoid this lawsuit situation...
There are an estimated 250,000 (primary) filers expected to take advantage of the July visa bulletin...a number that is hard to go unnoticed...

Immigration reform will not take place unless the lack of reform costs the government. Now, we all know that H1-Bs pay Social Security Tax and Medicare Tax. Also, according to the rules, we are not eligible for the benefits. Considering the average pay of a H1-B is $60000. This unfair tax amounts to about $2300 per/year/person. Now there are about 350,000 H1-B stuck in Labor for the past 2-3 years. The total amount in unfair tax is nearly
$2.4 BILLION!!! (I am being very conservative about this figure)
Maybe they will pay attention if a lawsuite is filed to recover these taxes..

I applied in Sept 2007 and got the audit letter in early Novemeber and replied on Nov 15, 2007.
