Being a volunteer, I had a chance to meet most of the members of the core team and other selfless volunteers. I also met the staffs of three congressmen and attended the congressional reception as well. I'll cherish this memory forever, since not many will get this chance in their lifetime.
One of the memorable moment on a personal level is, I met two of my high school juniors after more than 15yrs. It was a great feeling.
Chandu I met you also near the U-Haul truck when returning things after capitol hill meeting......
And I happened to be one of those juniors Nandha is talking about.It was a wonderful experience .

Thank you for your effort. Recapture of unused visas will eliminate most of the backlogs (does it require a congressional approval or if anything can be done as a part of an admin fix). Anything that requires a congressional will be lumped with the CIR, we are a small group of people held hostage at the mercy of CIR.

let me take a guess - at the minimum - 2 years for your PD and 4-5 years for my PD.
For you and me isnt it < 1year?

going by using unused visa from worldwide allocation within the category ie eb3 for 2011 year, 42.6k visas will help clearing off 9356 peinding cases till Jan 2003?
Am I missing anything?
Why eb2 were processed with 7K cases worldwide and only 700 for eb3 worldwide?
If 42600 / 4 = 10650 cases can be processed per quarter in eb3 , why only 700 were processed?

E-filed EAD on 24th April.
Supporting documents received on Apr 28th.
Received EAD receipt on April 30.
Last year I remember receing the receipt and biometric appt letter together.
Has anyone who efiled for EAD renewal this year have received biometrics appointment?
Please let me know.

I efiled ead petitions for both myselft an my wife on April 19th. I received the approval and the card on May 1st for my petition. I did not receive any biometric appointment. I have done efiling last time too.
however my wife did not get her approval yet although both of them were filed on the same day. had some luds and then no updates since april 27th.

Hi,
we sent our passport to Houston CGI in March. We received a mail from Postoffice saying that we missed the Passport and asking us to pick up at the post office. since we were out of station, we missed it in the bulk of mails and by the time we reached, the passport was sent back.
CGI houston replied us asking to confirm if the passport returned to Houston, and on confirmation, we asked them how to proceed to get it back. We got a call the other day to my home where in the person from CGI Houston informed that the passport was sent back as the photos were not clear, and they again got it back.
Now, the passport is with them. Will going in person make the work easy? We are in Dallas, and thinking of this.

I actually agree with logiclife. Your worth = how you perform. I have a Ph.D. and I am a post-doc in a lab, but my salary depends on how I perform. If someone with 6 months of NIIT can do what the job needs great. But, and this is a big but, whether you like it or not, US immigration policy is going to favor those who got degrees from the US . So Ron Hiras will have their way, and something will be worked out for those with US degrees. IEEE has tons of "well-respected" studies which prove that graduate studies improve the person's worth for an organization. Brb2 is also perfectly correct in that they fit in better in the US work culture, and hence have what the US industry needs. It is also true that if the need arises, those with US degrees can find employment with non-consulting firms; most non-US educated people however need these desi consultants.
It is false. US employers need good skilled workers. The only way they used to get people in earlier days was through students who come and graduate. But after the body shopping infracture was built, they started getting people through body shops.
Body shops are like feeder agents that feed foreign skilled workers in the system.
As per super specialization in US degrees, and Phds etc...It is true that some jobs need these skills and these kind of jobs are always available to people with those skills.
But most IT jobs at an entry level or a junior or a mid level programmer does not require that you have a US degree or a Masters or a Phd, and these are the kind of jobs that get filled by H1bs without US Master's.
In fact if a job requires a Phd and if they did not find a qualified US worker for that job, the job will be open for a PhD as long as the degree from a foreign univ gets evaluated and candidate is good.
In the days where there was no body shopping infrastructure was not there, businesses were forced to take MS grads from US univs just because they were accessible and tghere was no concept of outsourcing.
But these days, every company is having a outsourcing or offshoring model so these jobs that can be outsourced will always be outsourced. If the outsourcable jobs are to be kept in US, then skills must be insourced.

Application efiled at NSC on April 14.
Still no sign of the EAD
NSC is slow compared to TSC and also they start the EAD on the day it is approved and not when the previous one expires.
Somebody, needs to take this up with the Ombudsman due to difference in the processing policies and times for EAD renewals.
Application received by NSC on April 8th.

My congressman asked for an authorization letter from my employer & lawyer to look into it in-depth. Dead end.

Hello,
My PD has become current as of june visa bulletin and I am eligible to apply for I-484. But currently I am expecting and hence I may not be able to take all the medical exams (X-Rays etc..). Can I still apply for 485 and complete the medical exam later or do they need the complete medical report when I apply for I-485. I would appreciate if anybody can share any info in this regard. Thanks.

So that means you know nothing about how IV works, no point in arguing about something you don't know anything about. You can rather spend time on figuring how cows fly.

Now my questions is why do big companies in USA donate to any party. They do that because they believe that when that party come to power the goverment will be positive towards that specific business.
Nobody is selling anything to you. This is not a political party. If you can't support IV, its only you who is going to be the loser, no one else.

When did you get your FP notice? I filed on 7/1, still waiting for FP. My FP for I-485 is just 6 months old. Will it have any bearing?
